GlobCover

esa_logo.jpg GlobCover is an ESA initiative in partnership with JRC, EEA, FAO, UNEP, GOFC-GOLD and IGBP. The GlobCover project has developed a service capable of delivering global composite and land cover maps using as input observations from the 300m MERIS sensor on board the ENVISAT satellite mission. MODIS

nasa-logo.gif The MODIS global land cover product (MOD12) consists of two suites of scientific data sets (SDS): MOD12Q1 (global land cover), and MOD12Q2 (global land cover dynamics). In collection, both are being produced at a spatial resolution of 500-m at annual and bi-annual time-steps for MOD12Q1 and MOD12Q2, respectively. Read more

GLC2000

eu-logo.gif Leading a team of 30 institutions from all over the world, the IES Global Environment Monitoring Unit has produced a global land cover classification for the year 2000 (GLC2000). The general objective was to provide a harmonized land cover database covering the whole globe for the year 2000. Read more

Panoramio

panoramio.gif  Panoramio is a geolocation-oriented photo sharing website. Currently, some of the photos uploaded to the site can be accessed as a layer in Google Earth and Google Maps, with new photos being added at the end of every month. Read more

GMFS

gmfs.gif Global Monitoring for Food Security aims to provide earth observation based services and encourage partnerships in monitoring Food Security and related environmental processes in Africa, by concerting efforts to bring data and information providers together, in order to assist stakeholders, nations and international organizations to better implement their policies towards sustainable development. CCAFS

ccafs.png The CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is a 10-year research initiative launched by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and the Earth System Science Partnership (ESSP).
CCAFS seeks to overcome the threats to agriculture and food security in a changing climate, exploring new ways of helping vulnerable rural communities adjust to global changes in climate. Read more
